theres a line in there that say i dont want to spend my life with anyone but you, if thats about tommy then why does she turn him down

  1. She turns him down because she realizes its time for her to try and get by on her own and if she marries him she would continue to depend on him to help her survive. So basically its just time for her to start again on her own.
