  1. WTF ?

  2. I know, I'm so f*cking angry!! Martin Brundle read the exact rule that Ferrari ****** up and then for them to deal with it after the race is a total p**s take. If that was anyone other than Ferrari then it would have been either a stop and go or a drive through penalty, no questions.

EDIT: It's irrelevent that there was no accident and no one was hurt because the rules state that the team are not allowed to release the car if it is unsafe and having that Force India there was unsafe. Therefore they broke the rules regardless of no one getting hurt.

  3. .

Had he been released half a second earlier I think it may well have ended Massa's race; Massa could not have seen Sutil in his blind spot, but he may have heard him. On this occasion he saw him which was a great save.

I didn't see the GP2 race, but if there were penalties meted out in their races it's the usual scarlet tinted glasses that have gone on again in Ferrari's favour.

I am glad however that there was no penalty. Massa drove a great race and for him to be kicked in the nuts again would have been unbearably unjust.

On a side note....did you see the Mayor of London's Olympic acceptance speech? Piff Paff....I love it!! EDIT 2: OOPS that should read Wiff Waff (ping pong) invented on the dining tables of England apparently (and why not?)

EDIT: Actually, thinking about the safety aspect. If they had collided someone in the pitlane could've been badly hurt, so maybe a 5 place penalty for the next race would be safer than a 10000 euro fine, cos they may decide to release again and accept a 10000 euro slap on the wrist.

  4. I agree - can't understand why the stewards didn't assess the situation and make a penalty straightaway.  There were 2 GP2 "unsafe releases" yesterday, so they've got other cases to point to and show they are not picking on the race leader.  You shouldn't have one rule for the leader (ooh, we mustn't spoil the show) and one rule for the others....especially when safety is involved.

Ferrari need to review their pitstop procedures.  Hope that fuel-mechanic is ok....

  5. Well Ferrari are in the FIA's pocket - why else would they get so favoured? You're right if it was a McLaren they would have got two drive thru's, a 10 second stop go and a 10 place penalty next race.

Even so - it wasn't Massa's fault - he's an excellent driver - I think the team should lose their constructor's points for this race but it's unfair to penalise Felipe.

OH and McLaren would have probably got a $250,000.00 fine on top of the penalties mentioned above!

  6. There have been many similar incidents before that were never even mentioned, let alone investigated by the stewards. Therefore, it would have been a bit too harsh for Felipe to cop the penalty. Sure, it looked dangerous, and FIA should do something about it (like widen the pitlane). But at the end of the day, the incident did not result in an accident, nor did it change the finishing order of the race, so that too would be in favour of not penalising Felipe. But I must say, even though I'm a Ferrari fan, that Ferrari was lucky to have got away with it. Had it been Hamilton, they probably would have given him a drive through penalty on the spot.

  7. lets hang fire for the moment until we get a verdict of it but if nothing happens ill 2nd that

Emma should get the best answer purely on her Edit that has just told every1 how it is

  8. The video footage was available straight away and ITV showed it two or three times. If it had been ANY other team the drive through penalty (the most relevant and just penalty) would have been ordered immediately.

The apologists claiming 'there was no harm done' are missing the point of why it is important to punish recklessness like that each and every time regardless of whether or not they happen to result in negative or tragic consequences. Not to do so is playing Russian Roulette with other people's lives.

  9. Obviously another LEWIS loonie, wake up hes a muppet.Ferrari caused no accidents and at least it gave us some excitement in one of the most boring races ive ever watched, and i was probably watching F1 before most of you were born.

  10. Ferrari do appear to get away lightly with slight adverse incidents whereas McLaren are usually heavily penalised. On this occasion the error was slight and the financial penalty seemed OK.

  11. Agree with Val and Julian.

Let's forget all this rubbish about who favours who and get on with the racing please.

  12. I wouldn't be surprised if Massa got a penalty just to compound Ferrari's misery.

However that was not an incident where a penalty was clear cut.  Massa was on the right hand side of the pitlane and there was a Mercedes safety car parked there as well.  He backed off and Sutil went on without losing position.

Cars are released side-by-side all the time.  If Massa had actually overtaken Sutil or forced Sutil towards the parked safety car, then the penalty is clear.

  13. I do not see a problem, there was no accident, no touch, how many times has there been 2 cars along side in the pits this season.

Not Massa's fault, he couldn't see and was doing as told, not Sutil's, he was just doing his bit.

If and I mean if anything should happen, a small fine for Ferrari, ( 10.000 euros to the track).

  14. to be honest we gasped when we saw it first on the close angle, but when we saw the other shot from behind IMO it really didn't look that bad.

I expect there will be a penalty of some kind, ie 10 place grid drop for Felipe. IMO it should be the team that are penalised if anyone. remove constructors but let Felipe race as normal. It won't happen though, too many jobs worths.

I seriously think Ferrari need to rethink their pit crew strategies. it is obvious they would be better off with a lollipop man. If they had one that poor fuel man wouldn't have been hurt. hope he's OK

EDIT: 10,000 Euro fine for Ferrari

  15. 2nd Val and Julian. It didn't look terrible and it does happen all the time.
