  1. Yup. The person who sunk it.

  2. I belive the other person wins cause think about it if you shoot the 8 ball in anytime during gameplay the other person wins

  3. If you're using official BCA rules, the breaker has the option of a re-rack or spotting the 8 and playing the tables as it is. Nobody automatically wins on the break.

If you're playing on a bar table where you cannot remove the balls, the person who breaks wins. This is also true in most bar leagues.

  4. The person who sunk it!

  5. It is according to what game you are playing. In regular bar rules the person who broke would win. But if you are playing valley or APA rules. The 8 ball is spotted and the game continues.

  6. who ever broke it

  7. There is no simple answer to this question.

Most leagues (APA, I believe BCA & TAP did it too) have if you make the 8 on the break, you win, unless you foul (cue sinks or cue jumps the table) then you lose.

I've played in tournaments where if you make the 8 (or 9 in 9-ball) on the break you re-spot the ball at the foot spot or the closest place to the foot spot and continue play.

I've also play in a lot of places where house rules state if you sink the 8 on the break, you automatically lose because 1) you are playing 8-ball, not 9-ball, and if you sink the 8 prior to another ball, you lose automatically, so why would the break be any different.

IPT has adopted a legal eight on the break wins.  BCA World Standardized Rules (which aren't really standardized) as follows...

4.8   8-BALL POCKETED ON THE BREAK

If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, breaker may ask for a re-rack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting. If the breaker scratches while pocketing the 8-ball on the break, the incoming player has the option of a re-rack or having the 8-ball spotted and begin shooting with ball in hand behind the head string.

So to answer your question again... it depends on what the house/tournament/league rules for where you are playing, and there is no simple answer.

  8. The guy who sunk it is sunk.

  9. Bipolar is right on this one. There is no solid answer one way or the other. It just depends on the rules you happen to be playing under. It is always best to know the rules going in so there is no problem later on. Check the rules first!

  10. It depends on the type of league you are playing in. If it is VNEA then it is respotted, BCA, you win. Regular 8 ball you win.

  11. if you make the 8 on the break you win,I've never played where if you get it on the break you lose

  12. some people have house rules where you win or lose the game, but im pretty sure you just re rack

  13. If you make the 8 on the break you win, with one caveat, if you make the 8 on the break AND scratch, you lose.
