  1. The BBC in Britain is funded by a licence fee payable by every television owner in the country. This funds the 'British' BBc channels but not BBC World/BBC News 24/BBC AMerica soI guess these have to be funded via advertising.


  2. Why should the British taxpayer fund television for the America's? It's commercial so that it can pay for itself.
