  1. The team to be added to the Big 10 -- the most logical choice would be Appalachian State.

  2. I would love to see Notre Dame join the Big Ten, but I don't think that will happen. Iowa State would be a logical choice.

  3. Notre Dame would be the logically choice. But they are too worried about their precious NBC dollars to actually join a conference.

  4. Noter lame would be the best choice, but they are not interested because they like playing navy, army and the sisters of the blind in football.

However, since the little 10 +1 likes playing panzies why not add temple or fla atlantic or fla international or even had one of the directional michigan teams so they could call them conference games.

  5. To maintain their competitive balance they should add Ball State or Miami of Ohio.

  6. Notre Dame would be the logical choice, but because they make so much money from remaining private & their whole history is from being an independant team, I doubt they'd go for that.

I read once in a Yahoo! Sports article that if this happened, Rutgers might be asked to & leave the Big East & join the Big Ten. Don't really know how I feel about that though...as they're not really that good, and as a PA guy, I hate Jersey people anyway (sorry if you're from jersey)!

That same article also mentioned Pitt & WVU as possibilities. It said historically and geographically, adding either WVU or (especially) Pitt would be a logical move. Either way, the sports writer seemed to agree that Notre Dame would be the "coolest" choice, but would probably never happen, and that any addition would likely come from one of the top Big East teams.

  7. Actually, it would most likely be Notre Dame.  I'm pretty sure they have actually considered adding Notre Dame in the past.  Notre Dame is not really part of any football conference.  And adding them to the Big Ten would bring in more fans to the Big Tens football games.  Notre Dame already plays several of the Big Ten teams such as Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan.  And since Notre Dame is located in the Midwest, it makes Notre Dame easy to travel to.  The high grade point average of Notre Dame also makes Notre Dame a likely target.  That's part of the reason Northwestern and Penn State were added.

One thing that might hold up Notre Dame is that they already belong to the Big East in basketball.

I kind of doubt that the Big Ten will add any new members, but it's still possible.

  8. I agree with everyone else, Notre Dame would be a good addition.

  9. Notre Dame is logical, but they're too wrapped up in their own self-importance to go along.  They tried to do it about a dozen years ago, but Notre Dame turned them away.

Most likely would be Louisville, followed by Marquette, and Iowa State.
