  1. The clocks would read 3 hours later in New York, but in actuality, it would occur simultaneously, regardless of what our clocks read.  Also, if the Earth exploded, we would be gone, and so would our time measurement system.

  2. no because new yorkers are speed demons and californians are more laid back.  unless on the freeway then they would go first, as new yorkers don't drive.

  3. The earth doesn't own a watch.

  4. you are an idiot

  5. If you were in space watching the earth explode, you would see New York and California explode at the same time.  Time zones only affect the setting of people's clocks. The clocks in California would read 3 hours earlier than those in New York.  This is always true because this is the way we have all agreed to set our clocks.  If the world exploded at 6 PM, EDT, the people in New York would be eating dinner, but the people in California would see 3:00 on their clocks, and would still be at work or school.

  6. Time Zones are for when the rotation of the earth moves land masses into daylight. The time zones were set up to tell people when to wake up at a decent hour. The time difference has nothing to do with the entire planet blowing up.

  7. no

if a spaceship exploded in space would we hear about it 100 years or more later?  no

  8. This made me laugh, thanks. :)

  9. No, you idiot. If earth exploded the entire thing would explode. It wouldn't explode in time zones.
