  1. No they would not, the Australian constitution defines Queen Victoria her heirs and successors as the head of state of the Commonwealth of Australian in the scenario you give , technically the new head of state of the UK would become head of state of Australia as the legal successor to QV.

In reality a republic would emerge very quickly, I imagine that it would be a similar situations in other nations like Canada & NZ would be

  2. A Commonwealth realm is any one of 16 sovereign states within the Commonwealth of Nations with Elizabeth II as their respective monarch. While the term Dominion has never been officially revoked, it has been replaced by use of the word realm, beginning in the 1950s, so as to reflect the relationship of equality amongst all 16 countries.

As a consequence of this relationship, any alterations to the line of succession to the throne must be approved by the parliaments of all the realms in order to guarantee continuity of a single monarch. For example, there have been suggestions of removing the religious requirements from the Act of Settlement, which currently defines the succession. In practice, since each realm is a sovereign state, this requires the voluntary cooperation of all 16 of the realms. Alternatively, a realm could choose to end its participation in the personal union.

  3. No they are separate countries not dominions of  GB and make there own decisions on their politics. However the question is why do we not currently have far closer ties with them bearing in mind what we have in common.

  4. I do not think so. If the Queen is also the queen of Australia or Canada or New Zealand, as she is, then theoretically, she would remain their queen - though perhaps not for very long in every case. Here in Zimbabwe, we threw her out with the other whiteys when we fought the colonialists and threw them out.

  5. Most of them are Parliamentary democracies and would have to decide how they would progress forwards probably with the aid of a referendum.
