I was watching the Detroit/Pittsburgh game last night on CBC, and during one of the intermissions Don Cherry was at an arena telling people something relating to the boards and penalties. I couldn't hear the game quite well seeming I was at work; I just heard the odd word hear and there. All I heard was "To me, this should be penalty". Sooo... this inspired me to ask the question of if the NHL was played the way Don Cherry would like to see it...what do you think would be different? Because we all know Don Cherry and his views on hockey.

Would player's jerseys be all vibrant and flamboyant?

lol.

That's all I can think of at the moment...I can't think of much because I am trying to study for my chemistry exam tommorow...so that is why I came here and asked hopefully to get some funny answers!

Wish me luck on my exam! =P lol

  1. The other night he brought up a very valid point about off-side passes. He also has some valid points about how to get the job done, he is a very effective coach even if he isn't a very practical businessman. I love the suits. I used to think that he didn't wear any of them twice but then I saw footage of something from a few years ago (probably 15-20 prior) and when they came back to him, he was in that very suit, you should have seen the look on his face, priceless. He is adorable, loud, but adorable. Who cares if he thinks only Canadians can/should play hockey? I live on the Canadian border and most Canadians are a lot like him. Flamboyant, gentlemanly, opinionated, and they love hockey. lol Bipolar, what? Good luck on the exam.

  2. Don isn't g*y.  He just likes to wear flamboyant suits because he is the crazy guy of hockey.  His issue with the boards is to have the glass all the same height.  That way it is harder to get a delay of game penalty and if you do you really deserve one.

And good luck on your exam.

  3. Can I just say something here. If Don Cherry had his way, Detroit wouldn't have a Hockey team. Plain and simple.

  4. He's always got valid points about the game.  And his Rock'em Sock'em collection is kick ***.

I don't believe he thinks it should be an all Canadian sport.  I do believe he thinks Canadians are the best at the sport however.  (And if it wasn't true, the league wouldn't have roughly 75% of it's players coming from Canada)

  5. Only Canadians would be allowed to play!

  6. There'd be 6 or 8 teams, ALL in canada and only Canadian players allowed. And they would all be broke all the time. He's send Hockey back in to the dark ages.

  7. if it was played Don Cherrys way, all the jerseys would be plaude and rainbow colored
