Question:

If the NYPL says something is "restricted to qualified researchers," does that mean anyone can access it?

I was trying to find a video archive of the musical "Ragtime" for a project I am doing, and I found that the New York Public Library has one on hand, but the catalog says it is "Restricted to qualified researchers". Does that mean anyone researching can view it, or what? I would just go check, but it is like a two hour drive, and I wanted to make sure I would be able to view it.

  1. The library has a method or criteria for determining who is qualified .Call them and ask for the criteria and how you can apply./
