If the Ouija board is not a toy and is dangerous then why is it sold in toy stores?

I hear many horror stories, but to me if this thing was so dangerous it would evident and not sold in toy stores.

It is a toy and it is not an evil thing by invention.  It is what one decides to use it for that makes the difference.

You do not need any board game to call something up.  Like so many things that have been invented for good or for fun, it can be abused.

Here is the deal on the Ouija board- it is a toy and it does work. Years ago I was fascinated by the Ouija board and did extensive study by trial and error. This is what I was able to conclude- the Ouija board works-it has an 80 to 90% success rate if some one in the room( not including the two that are using the board) knows the answer- they do not have to know the answer in their mind, for the board to be correct. For example The question ( how much change does John have in his pockets ?) John may not know how much but the board will be right on the money almost 100% of the time on this type of question. Ages .birthdays,money in someones billfold are all answered almost 100% correctly.

  The board always works better when everyone in the room believes in it's ability to answer correctly- the game is least accurate when there is someone that does not believe it in the room- at times the game does not make an error in it's answers- there are other times it is off by a good bit, and will give you a different answer to the same question- you ask it if it knows the answer and it will say no.

  to  work the best-it needs to be no distractions, every one must concentrate on the game- I have come to the conclusion that the game works by some sort of mental process between the people in the room and the two working the board- It seems to know the answers that is locked in someones mind that is in the room. The same things that would be known if a person would be hypnotized and could give the correct answer under hypnosis.

  There are no spooks involved in the game, but it does work in a way that is not understood. There is some that will deny that it works, but my challenge to them would be- buy the game and see for yourself- it does work.

This is what comes to mind. A conspiracy.......studies show that possessed children buy more toys, thus sell them something that will get them possessed, and make more toy sales.

Either that, or the stores dont believe they are harmful, just spooky fun.

There are no legal ramifications for selling objects subject to supernatural danger.

It is only by tradition that many counties still require a report on a house being haunted before its sold.

And you have people that swear up and down bad things started to happen to them after using it.........

Good and bad things happen to people all the time.

And it's not because of using voo-do or the Ouija board.

My wife has two of them and believes strongly in them and that they can hear you and can be dangerous if you speak badly of them. I believe that they are nothing more than a child's toy and are no different than a Monopoly game. ( They both say Parker Brothers on the box). By the way just as an experiment I used some very foul and threatening language toward them and didn't even get a wart.Not in front of my wife, wouldn't want to offend her, she's much scarier than the board!

It is more than a toy, but it is not dangerous. I find it to be very unreliable but not dangerous at all. I believe it works through the power of the minds of the individuals using it.

The religious and/or spirit-crazed among us can name any mundane object and call it evil or dangerous and create an uproar among the faithful about it, and certainly that has happened. The Ouija board is one example. But the danger is only perceived, it is only a mystic belief, and thankfully we don't live in a theocracy where such irrational hysteria is legislated (well, not usually, anyways).

Ouijas aren't dangerous at all.In fact they are great fun.Fooling silly people with a Ouija is a great pass time.I also like reading the ridiculous answers given to questions about them.Thank you for giving me a few laughs today.

Ouija Boards were created for one purpose back in the days of WW1. People back then could not afford to go to a psychic so the Ouija was devised for them to contact their deceased relatives killed in the war. It was game companies that made a game out of it. It is not a game!
