  1. filipinos would have spoken one language..

and yes economic situations would be better.. no more /less sinking boats,, better management due to accesibility. cheaper food(no more island hopping). and there would be more land(we have thousand of useless islands) to cultivate..

  2. no not really. it may differ a little. the problem still lies on the system not on the geographic aspect.

  3. This is just geography.  What the Philippines need is Maturity as a People.  The Philippine Economy no longer sinks, because it is already sunk and just going side ways.  Filipinos must look at the effects of what he have been doing, for everything affects everybody.

Stop relying on the Government for dole outs and have a sense of pride.

Stop having s*x for pass time if you can't be responsible to feed the offspring.

Stop Stealing the governments money or misappropriating it.

    Stop all the foolishness.

Have shame, and be ashamed of the shameless for you have voted for them.  Philippines is not for Christians or Muslims or INC or Roman Catholics, buddhist, Taoist, Hindus, Pagans and the like.  Philippines is for Filipinos, so don't s**+ t where you eat.

  4. Assuming we have the same natural resources, I would have to say that as an island nation, the state of affairs of our political and economic systems would have been better.  For one thing, the distribution of goods and services could be greatly facilitated.

BUT I still cannot imagine the Philippines as one big island instead of the 7,107 islands.  You see I have vested interest in maintaining the status quo - I don't want my native dialect (Ilonggo) to be subjugated to Tagalog, which most likely would have been the only dialect in a one island nation.

  5. No regionalism and no natural and shipping disasters. Catholicism would have spread easily through the entire Philippines and there would be no Islamic separatists and extreme regionalistic tendencies by politicians = in short, a greater Philippines.

  6. political -  harder to cheat on elections coz there are no more faraway  island provinces

economic -  no need for RORO

  7. We'd probably have gone through a warring states period like Japan did. We'd end up having a greater national identity, but we probably wouldn't have the diverse culture we are known for right now.

In short, we'd probably end up like a warmer version of Japan. Probably even richer, because we'd have started with more natural resources.

  8. less accidents on ships...

  9. Sorry.  The preposition cannot be replicated under laboratory conditions.

A whole lot of possibilities and we could expostulate all night, and may be fill up the whole page with probabilities, and when we finish, you or the voters may have already decided the best answer.

So, I will simply guess that the weighted average may tilt for the better scenario.

Personally, however, I like the seven thousand isles just as it is.

  10. Less beaches, less business for shipping lines and maybe even for airlines, less area for fishing and again less beaches--so no.
