theres no gold and even if there was, a project to extract it would cost more than the gold is worth

lol that crappy mars explorer looks like it been made of match sticks, i dont think it could hold gold lol

Probably not.  The costs of traveling to Mars or sending robots there to claim the gold would be too high.  So far, even NASA has not created a spacecraft that has landed on Mars and returned to earth.  There would be no gold rush, as there are too few people with enough money to undertake such a project.  And those who could would probably find that the costs outweigh the benefits.
