If the President were to participate in a drug incident where he went to a different country, strapped heroin to his body, tried to take it to another country, and got caught, could that country (if there penalty for drugs is the death penalty) give the president the death penalty?

  1. diplomats in foreign countries are given immunity unless the country of origin for the diplomat waives it.  Find a new york cop and ask them.  They have to deal with the UN all the time.

  2. Well, first of all, world leaders of various nations are generally protected from search and seizure of themselves or their luggage by a rule called "Diplomatic Immunity".

So it is unlikely a President would ever be found carrying drugs.  (Some say Bill Clinton always had a little weed on him...)

But secondly, taking another nation;s leader, and trying him, and trying to kill him, is frowned upon in international relations.  Such an act generally leads to war, so most people avoid it.

The only guy who ever "tried to put a hit" on a leader or ex leader, was Saddam Hussein, and he tried to put a hit on George H.W. Bush Senior, in retributution for Gulf War One.  And that is why George W. Bush, Junior invaded Iraq. And we all know how wonderfully that has turned out, no?
