Surely if they are saying they disagree with the likes of Crufts they should not participate by having a trade stand at the show.

  1. They go because they use it as a chance to educate the people there and to look after the dogs welfare while they are there.

The RSPCA is a charity which looks after the well being of dogs and all other animals what better place to advertise what they do. What They are against is the breeding which causes problems and suffering and which some, not all, breeders as so called dog lovers don't seem to care about.

  2. It may be because they want business, or since that broadcasting  of the pedigrees on bbc one they've got rid of it.

Also it could be to do with helping dogs there, making them selves known etc. I go to Crufts.=]

  3. Who says the RSPCA disagrees with the world of showing?  I don't follow your question or see any proof of your statement.

  4. Why do we let groups like rspca tell us what to do? I agree that there needs to be somekind of watchdog over the treatment of animals, but we keep giving these types of groups more power. Let THEM outlaw dog shows like they did fox hunting. One of these days you won't be able to own anything other than a stuffed dog [that is if you bath it once a week].

  5. They are there in protest like striking workers standing outside their office all day.

  6. They might want to help look after the dogs at the show and get publicity because they run on donations. They need people to support them.

  7. its not the show they disagree with it is the irresponsible breeding they are objecting to, the breeders that don't get health checks and breed from dogs that have hereditary illnesses that need to be stopped not the responsible breeders who really care for their dogs and get health checks done, crufts is a chance to show a good standard of dogs it is the breeding side that is letting it down and the breeders who are breeding dogs that should not be bred, the RSPCA go to crufts as it is visited by millions of people and they can highlight the problems, the dogs on the day are inspected by the RSPCA and any dog in distress is removed so it is not all bad, most owners never leave their dogs side and spend all day caring for their dog and making sure they are comfortable, there are some bad and irresponsible breeders out there but it is unfair to tar all breeders with the same brush, if they RSPCA really objected to crufts then they would not be there, the dogs on the day do come first so you can't blame a dog show, and the RSPCA can see along with the rest of the world how much the dogs are cared for, if they weren't then the dog could not compete, people should not blame a dog show but start to clamp down on the breeders who are letting their breed down and creating problems
