Question:

If the Ronald McDonald House recycles the soda tabs for money, why don't they recycle the whole can?

And before you say it, I KNOW IT'S MADE OF A DIFFERENT MATERIAL! But that doesn't mean that you still can't recycle the cans for money. And can't you do the same with water bottles?

  1. I'm fairly sure that all of the things you hear about soda tabs being collected for charity are just urban legend, but I could very well be wrong.

    Edit:  I stand corrected.  I found one of their sites that says they do recycle them.  I have no clue why it's only the tabs.


  2. Likely, it's only the tabs because they are...pound for pound...worth more money than the cans, and take up lots less room.

  3. Secret Agent's right. There's about as much aluminum in the tab as there is in the whole can. It saves space and you don't have to worry about ants! :]
