Would other countries attack the U.S.? I imagine Russia and China might. Who'd attack the U.S. and who'd ally with the U.S. (if anybody)? Don't say this will never happen as I know it probably never will. It's just a HYPOTHETICAL question.

  1. It would lose whatever little credibility it has left with the rest of the world.

It is hilarious to watch C Rice lecture the Russians about political morality

after the US military has savagely leveled the Iraqi town of Falluja not once but twice!!!  Not of course that one or two wrongs in this case make a right and I do not condone any excesses of the Russians in Georgia whether the Georgian political leadership deserved it or not, the ordinary people caught in the political maelstrom certainly did not.  Ok. the US has given the Israelis nuclear bunker busting bombs to use against the Iranians so perhaps like Lady McBeth, the US can protest innocence as the Israelis overfly Iraqi airspace with US satellite help attack Iran.  Invading the MidEast is impractical as despite all their lies about this so-called surge, the US is barely keeping it together in Iraq

and this is without a draft  but using the National Guard of the Stats a using high paid mercenaries to boot.

Remember Gen Westmoreland saying re Vietnam, " We destroyed it in order to save it,"  ?  Well, that kind of institutionalized insanity only exists in the minds of certain political and military thinkers in the US and in the minds of suicide bombers  who do a take off on the same

nihilistic theme but say, " We destroyed it in order to save ourselves."

Two sides of the same coin of insanity.

My answer in short is that there are saner people in the world who

will back off and not go there and will deal with the US maniacs in another way like change all oil trading to Euros or pull debts that the US owes Saudi Arabia and China.  Or maybe the people of the world will just in the spirit of "not in my name" spontaneously boycott all US goods???   This is as hypothetical a reply as your question.

  2. us will lose all its allies in the middle east and probably more than half the world.

  3. the middle east would be gone, the nuclear winter that ensued would impinge on china, europe, russia and india's air space.  they would retaliate and most of their people would die trying to get soldiers over here.  we would of course deploy the bulk of our military might for the ten minutes it takes us to run out of oil. then everyone will starve to death because of the pollution from the bombs and dead bodies floating over the eastern conitinents has destroyed all the crops that the us government pays american farmers not to grow.  australia will be fine.  the end.

  4. Vote republican in November and you may find out sooner than later.

  5. china and russia would not attack the U.S simply because they are not capable of doing so, the only 2 countries who could attack the U.S hommeland with conventional means is canada and mexico and thats because we share boarders, why do you think we have never been invaded (except 1812) its because with our military we are unbeatable, now you may ask why then havent we taken care of russia during the cold war, and the answer is because they really are a formidable foe, if we ever invaded russia we would have our hands full and it would be the bloodiest war in history, and the same if russia invaded western europe, if russia or anybody else attempted to invade our homeland they would be blown out of the sky and sunk way before they reached our shores, the U.S  has never gone all out in any war since WW2, its because a lot of people cant stomache what would happen, for the first 5 years of the war the U.S was fighting with both hands tied behind their back and since the surge we were allowed to fight with 1 hand tied to our foot and we have won, imagin if we were to truly fight, its a scary thought what we would do

  6. Assuming that the ENTIRE middle east would be invaded, a lot of things would happen. First and most importantly, economically speaking: The prices of crude oil would skyrocket. And I mean SKYROCKET...we're talking 300-400 dollars a barrel. This is because fuel exports from countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran would be completely halted due to military restrictions and homeland security preparations on the part of the Arabs. This would result in a major economic recessions in places like Western Europe and the United States (at first, the oil reserves would be released, however, once those are dried up, the US and EU economies would be in deep). Next, the middle eastern countries and even Asian countries that have nothing to do with the war, would give up/sell their American bonds/t-bills. This sudden release of t-bills would result in the hyperinflation of the USD. The value of the USD would by some estimates be cut in half if all US t-bills were sold and if the market were flooded by them. Countries like China and Russia would put a halt to US exports, also because of military restrictions and homeland security preparations on their behalf. This too would kick the US economy in the crotch. So, in summary, if the entire middle east were invaded by the US, the US economy WOULD by all means collapse, the USD would collapse, and you better believe that most Asian countries and some European countries would put an end to certain trade treaties with the US. Not because they like the middle east, but simply because of their own interests and fears.

Militarily speaking, the response wouldn't be as bad as the economic response. In this 21st century, countries are more likely to wage wars with their economies than with their tanks. If the US did that, Russia would get involved, but they would invade their US allied neighbors. China would not get militarily involved against the US.

I could type up a book on what would happen, but this should give you a taste of what would happen if that scenario played out. Like I said above, the economic consequences would be much more dire than the military consequences.
