Like Ted Kennedy, for example. If I'm in line to get a tumor checked out and Ted needs a checkup for his, does he stand in line behind me or does he move to the front?

  1. Politicians have very different health care for life, for free. They voted it for themselves, so only the best, you know?! He will be let in the side door so you don't raise a stink thinking you're all equal and stuff. Bring something to read while you wait.

  2. He'd pay for private treatment.....

  3. Oh, yes, most definitely - just like they do now! :-))

  4. Since Ted and others have the money, they proceed to the front of the line.

  5. No they will slip a few bucks to whoever they need to to get to the front of the line

  6. You must remember that all officials have all the entitlements, nothing they pass goes for then just the peons. They are the entitled and will always exempt themselves................

  7. Of course not.  Like in all other socialized health countries the rich folk will still be able to buy private insurance.  It's only the peon serfs that will have to die waiting for service.

  8. Prince William and Prince Harry were born at St Marys Hospital London an NHS Hospital, as was Kiefer Sutherland  and his twin sister Rachel.

Peter Phillips  and Zara Phillips the children of Princess Anne were also born at St Marys in London.

NHS Major Teaching Hospitals are amongst the best hospitals in Britain, and house the medical schools of some of the countries most prestigous Universities.

  9. Does he stand in line behind you at the grocery check out?

  10. All you have to do is look to countries that have universal health care to get your answer.  The rich don't wait their turn -- they either pay more for private insurance or they go to another country and pay out of pocket for whatever procedure they need.  And if you think the rules that apply to John and Jane Q. Public will apply to politicians, think again.  When have our elected leaders ever had to play by the rules?

  11. Tell me you are really not that ill informed as to how the system works, or are you?

  12. Appears you have struck a nerve with the people.  My only question is, when you talk about socialized health care, what are the people with money going to do when they get to be 70, 80, or even 90 years old? They get sick and are told that they really are to old for their type of operation because it's too expensive for someone to really need that treatment because of age factors.  You think you have seen screaming now, wait.  But perhaps by then we will be so far down the road the only people screaming are the ones that think they arn't getting enough of the settelment when the will is read.

  13. Those in power already have socialized health care.  You don't think Ted Kennedy pays his own medical expenses do you?

  14. LOL.. whens the last time you went to the doctor or made a visit to the ER? You wait in line all day as it is. Then you go bankrupt from the bill.

And Sarge - you are correct, if you can afford private healthcare you will get it. The entire system is not going to change, in fact if you already have healthcare then you will probably keep what you have. The problem is the 40% of Americans who don't have healthcare.

Not to mention the fact that one fo the biggest obstacles facing small business is healthcare for the owners and its employees. M y guess is you would see a surge in entrepreneurship with nationalized healthcare, as that is the primary reason people stay in jobs they dislike.
