I mean in raw power I the US would win hands down I mean we win in every Field the Russian military is basically at war with its self their tearing themselves apart.....The US has way More allies that would back it up and we have more and better equipment I mean the M1A2 is way better than the t-90, the m16 main infantry rifle is way more accurate and beats the AK47, the American APV's aren't as good as the Russian ones but we have 4x as many so we win there, we have more men fit for military service, the SU-47 isn't as good as the F-16 little alone the Raptor and if you look at a map American Allies and America has Russia surrounded from to flanks. Thought Europe along with the EU and NATO we would make a blitz to Moscow along with our allies and thought the west we would march largely unopposed because of the lack of population in their western regions.......

My question is why is it that we would beat the Russians in every feild yet even Americans think were weak(I'll admite that the US militar is weakened but with the already 350000 troops across Europe we could easily claim victory) so why is it everyone acts like America would get our asses kicked if we went to war with the Russians?

I want honest military opinions look at jsut type America will lose.....So can someone please tell me why all these people think the US would automaticly lose when we win in every feild?

  1. sad to say but russia might have advantage coz iraq/afghan.....

  2. We have never fought an air-ground war one-on-one with the Russians but they just recently tested their SU-35 fighter not too long ago.  Perhaps this invasion was well-planned months ago and the Olympics were the perfect cover-of-darkness while the world looked elsewhere.

We have an awesome military arsenal and some modern technology.  But the Russians are experts at surprise, so we need to be vigilant.

If we go to war against Russia, may god bless us all.

  3. Well if we used all are weapons (nukes included) the world would be destroyed. Most likely it would be another cold war, 40 years of nothing happening. Russia also looses almost any war there in alone (nice way of saying they suck *** without us on there side) we would win hands down no problem.

  4. Not to say that war would ever happen....

The US forces right now are just too stretched.

Afghanistan and Iraq have taken alot of resources and military personnel, that most would agree both conflict areas are understaffed by US military personnel.

I think it would be very serious to attack Russia, and I don't foresee a great outcome.

    BUT.

Given the scenario.. nukes aside... say the US wasn't in Iraq or Afghanistan and it was JUST a war between America and Russia... so say no other allies involved.

I think it would be a longer war.. I think it would cost alot of lives, but I htink the US is too strong militarily to lose.

  5. No disrespect intended but you're asking the wrong question. There has never been any doubt about where superior military power lies. The US technological edge trumps any and every other factor on the battle field. The reason that Americans perceive our military as weak is because we have an inherent achilles heel that other powers have learned to exploit. It's our lack of political will. Our politics dictate how we fight wars. We dominate in combat but we routinely lose in the arena of public opinion. The enemy only has to publish one image of collateral damage or US casualties on CNN and our political will goes in the toilet. The Russians don't have that problem. At least not to the same degree. They don't give a d**n what the world thinks. They don't give a d**n about what their own citizens think.

Wars are won when you have the will to do anything and everything that it takes to do so. According to your premise the US should never have lost in Viet Nam but it did. What was the deciding factor?

  6. We would because our civilians can make anything. Our civilians would be making tanks, planes, aircraft carriers, and the most important our troops. But the weather could be a factor, but thats where coffee comes in!

  7. You are talking about a 3 powerful country in the world. Don't forget that Russia has a hightly train special ops called "Spetsnaz".

  8. People mainly think we would lose because they draw all their conclusions about a russian war, from wars such as Iraq or Vietnam.

Iraq- Iraq itself was a stunning American victory during the actual war, and the main pains for people was actually during the setting up of a new Iraqi government (wierdly enough, people still seem to think we are at war). Even then we have lost less soldiers than a single battle in WW2. If that is losing, lets keep it up!

Vietnam- It is a great mistake to think that our military tactics and strategies for fighting Russia, would be the same as the ones in Vietnam.

Keep in mind that if we ever got in a direct war with Russia, it would be when negotiations had already broken down. There would be no limited wars like Vietnam. Everyone would have already picked a side, and this would set up to be a third world war (most likely fought in the pacific, but who knows, it could be in Europe). This would be a formally declared war, there would most likely be a draft (bolstering our already quite big forces), and our industrial might would be put to use pumping out such an unbelievable amount of materials to arm ourselves and our allies. It would be a scene not seen since WW2. This is of course if the war doesn't go nuclear, in which case there is no winner.

If the Russians wanted to have a chance at keeping the Europeans out of it, they would have to fight in the pacific, at which point we would obliterate their navies and airforce (ours are far superior in terms of tech, equipment, manpower, and training, a complete shutout). At this point we level them at will until we come to some sort of ceasefire.

Hugo really got it spot on there, our political will is definately our Achilles heel. I do think though that this would be less of a problem going up against another power that could be a threat to us, such as Russia, versus a country like Vietnam. Doesn't give off such an image of bully to the average American. Don't think anyone really doubts political will when facing a country such as Russia, they just immediately pounce on the obviously false, "we will be defeated!!" cry.

  9. haha well i would have to say that we definitely have the tech advantage and much more experience in modern combat. us troops are part of arguably the most flexible and mobile army in the world.  however the us is stretched thin at the moment, the russians would be more unified in support of the war as we can't even support the current one in Iraq, and they would have better knowledge of terrain.  in the end us airpower and tactics>russian numbers

  10. I think we WOULD win because the US is so much advanced in technology now and in bombs, Russia isn't very good at researching these things so they just buy these secrets from other countries. We're also winning in the space race so if there WAS a war I think the US could come up with unpredictable weapons and even use satellites as weapons.

Of course if wasn't always like this, in WWII we were weak with unexperienced combative units, the only experienced soldiers that were sent to Europe were the ones that had chased Pancho Villa in Mexico. So back then we would most likely lose.

  11. ummm, no one.  i think you forgot about all the ICBMs with nuclear warheads we have pointed at each other.

    result:  Mutually Assured Destruction.

  12. well as we are at war with Russia right now I think the Question is who will win? (there are 6,000 US spec ops in the front lines in Georgia right now) well I have to say we are going to get nuked (I really hope not!!!) but this is the start of WW4 (IEG cold way = WW3) but in the end i think we wold win unless there's several huge EMP attacks... that would end the US's tec based fighting style... but I think Russia could never holed the states of Alaska, Texas, and New Hampshire there are to many guns so unless they wipe us out there troops are dead! but they might holed the rest of the cowardly nation! all I got to say is that the Feds (or the UN or Russia or anyone) aint going to be suspenseful at declaring martial law here!!!!

they can take my gun from my cold dead hands!!! and

LIBERTY OR DEATH! they mean something to me and here in Texas!

  13. If it came to an all out war, probably Russia. Why? The U.S. is stretched thin, and over-extended with combat troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and housing more in other global bases of the world. Also, we are lacking finance to pay for our wars. Russia has been lately testing its military firepower, and has a bigger military than ours. They are not technologically advanced as we are, but Russia would make it to the top, they are not over-extended, and have troops ready to man anywhere.

In a nuclear war, considering both nations have huge stockpiles, and ICBM's, nobody would win.

  14. it would probably be fought at sea and in other nations and if one would invade the other it would probably lead to a nuclear war which would lead to a tie.

people are probably against America b/c of the failed policy in Iraq and the hard battles fought by Americans in Iraq which we were losing up to a couple months ago

  15. Come on, this is American, most of the people here are either retarded or a liberal.

They probably just heard stories about the Cold War and think they have "super soldiers," alot of nuclear weapons, and and alot more crazy stuff.

US beats Russia in manpower, airpower, missile defense, navy, and technology while Russia beat us in armor, artillery, and infantry support weapon.

We have more troops than the Rissians, a 1 - 2 differences. Our troops are probably better equip than the Russians but after I saw this one crazy video how Russia inhumanly trian their troops, I have my doubts. We are also the only country with generation 5 aircraft technology like the F-22 and the F-35. We also have the most carriers in the world, 66 total while Russia only have 7.
