We are going through all sorts of problems, yet at the same time we are spending unbelievable amounts of money and resources in Iraq. We invaded to stop the trade of weapons of mass destruction. There were none, were still there. WTF.

  1. Yes, but not as bad.

There are many factors hurting our economy that have nothing to do with the war -- Housing and Banking to name two.

The war debt on top of all that, the strife being caused by us being there  and the instability the war brings add to the economic woes we and the world are feeling right now.

  2. It would actually be in worse shape.  Military spending injects a lot of money into the economy, and military hardware is overwhelming produced inside the US ( unlike most other things )... that's a lot of jobs that wouldn't exist.

  3. We were in soo much debt this war didn't cause that. I'm sure all the people who answered think that if clinton was back in office doing monica everything would be better off

  4. the economy would be the same since the dems control congress

  5. We don't have 'all sorts of problems' We have one major problem- gas prices! They are driving the price of everything else that has to be transported (which is d**n near everything).

  6. With Bush in office who knows what else he would have done so I think we would have a mess no matter what. He was cutting thing out that were important for the foundation of our country to be sound. He was the reason the levies were not maintained which is why Katrina ended up like it did. So we have a greedy man in office whose intentions are not for the good of the country but only for the good of the people who can give to him. This is the root of the disaster.

  7. Yes

  8. Theoretically, we would have been in much better shape without the Iraq money drain. But even if Bush hadn't invaded Iraq, he probably would have found some other way to s***w things up.

  9. I bet anything we wouldn't. Gas wouldn't be so high for sure.

  10. And people get on the Democrats for wasteful spending...

  11. yes but not as bad, its the fault of the Democrats like Chuck Schumar for encouraging banks to give loans to people that couldn't afford them, I mean if you make 40,000 a year and  you get a loan for a 500,000 dollar house someone is asleep at the wheel
