  1. Definitely "speaker of the house".  That's why they never try to have the Prez and VP together very much....it's too risky!

  2. trick question, president

if both died then speaker of the house would be president temporarily (voted for by the house of representatives)

  3. Assuming the President's dead as well, the Speaker of the House would be next in line.

  4. If the Vice-President dies, the President remains as President.     -RKO-  07/05/08

Example: If d**k Cheney dies, George W. Bush is still President (but he won't have anyone to tell him what to do).

  5. speaker of the house

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Stat...

This is based on if the presidient died, then the vice president, who would be next in line.

    Sect. of state is 4th.

  6. Speaker of the House.

  7. Is there a little sarcasm here?

If d**k Chaney died who would tell Bush what to do?  Is that your meaning?

  8. To honor history, the presidential succession is determined by a 1947 law to promote the Secretary of the Cabinets in historical order. The Veep is the tie-breaker in the Senate.

    So if prez is incapacitated...

    and veep is incapacitate ...

The following persons are in line if they meet the requirements of age and place of birth to be POTUS

    # Speaker of the House  Nancy Pelosi

    # President pro tempore of the Senate1 Robert Byrd

    # Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice

(then the rest of the cabinet)

  9. Speaker of the House, then the Senate Pro tempore

  10. If the President is still alive, he would have to appoint a new one, who would then be confirmed by congress.

If both the President and Vice President die, the Speaker of the house is next in succession.

  11. The President would still be the president, because he (the president) did not die.

  12. Prez would have to choose a new VP, if that's what you mean.

The VP is technically a spare, with very few official responsibilities.

  13. I know that this is based on The President already being dead so the answer is: The Speaker of the House, who is the ranking member of the Senate. At this time that would be that hippie 60's throwback, n**i, communist, idiot Nancy Pelosi.....BE AFRAID....BE VERY AFRAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Porkrod or Porkeater has not a clue about that of which he speaks. If the V.P. dies The President APPOINTS the next V.P.

  14. Is the President dead too? I guess it would be the Secretary of State. Not sure.

  15. pro-temp of the senate , i think

  16. Speaker of the house, then president pro tempore of the Senate.

    The rest goes like this:

    Secretary of State

    Secretary of the Treasury

    Secretary of Defense

    Attorney General

    Secretary of the Interior

    Secretary of Agriculture

    Secretary of Commerce

    Secretary of Labor

Secretary of Health and Human Services

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development

    Secretary of Transportation

    Secretary of Energy

    Secretary of Education

    Secretary of Veterans Affairs

    Secretary of Homeland Security

  17. If the VP died the President would still be President & the Speaker of the House would become VP.

If Cheney died I think there would be more celebration than grief...
