  1. h**l no. Even Cashman and Steinbrenner admitted that their record is attributed to injuries. Girardi gets a free pass this year.

  2. No

  3. No, because missing the playoffs once doesn't mean anything, think about the other teams that miss the playoffs about every year. do you see the pirates manager getting fired?

    hope that helped :)

  4. no

  5. I don't think that they should or will fire him.

He's doing well given what he has to work with.

    Cashman on the other hand....

  6. If they fire Joe Girardi they'd be misplacing the blame. It was Brian Cashman and the Steinbrenner brothers who failed to upgrade the pitching staff and relied on a bunch of young guys that weren't ready in the rotation while also letting the offense age.

    Girardi would be a scapegoat.

  7. No, I don't think he will. Nor should he. It's his first year on the job, so he deserves more time to do his thing.

If you ask the Yankees brass off the record, they'd tell you that team wasn't going to the World Series from the start of the year. The injuries haven't helped, either.

  8. No. It's not like that roster is spring chicken. The core of guys are old. Plus a lot of injuries this year that no team can really recover from over the course of a season. I think it would be unfair to judge Girardi on this one season and I believe he will get his shot next year. Frankly the first person to go would be Cashman in my opinion.

  9. Probably not. Girardi has done a good job considering the injuries and other unfortunate events that have happened. If they don't make it next year, then maybe.

  10. he wont be,but Brian Cashman will. Which is too bad. How can you blame him when its the Steinbrenners that are s******g things up?

  11. he shouldn't. a lot of the players just didn't play well this year so far, and the big stars like joba, arod, posada, and matsui either were or currently are injured. you shouldn't blame him. however, don't count the yanks out yet. there's still plenty of time left

  12. No, he's doing a good job. They've had too many injuries, and some of their players are just getting older.

  13. Hes not going  to be fired  this year so it's a moot point.

  14. No. Regardless of the legitimate issues about the injuries and the age of the roster, the simple fact is that if they fire him after one year, it will be seen by some as an admission that they should have kept Joe Torre. George and Hank will never allow even that suggestion to be made.

  15. It's definitely not  Joe's fault.  Cashman has got to go!   Seriously, what were they thinking trading Farnsworth.  They didn't need another catcher.  What they needed (and are still in DESPERATE need of) is a BULLPEN!  Isn't it ironic how just a couple days after the trade, their starter goes 6 innings, gives up 1 run and they end up losing the game 11 to 4......11!!!  I can't even express how angry i am about this season.  Sure they've had a whole lot of injuries but with the rest of their roster, i think they could do a little better that winning ONLY 70 GAMES!!!  Injuries hurt a team but you can't rely on that as an excuse for a lousy season...

  16. For Joe, next year is do or die.
