  1. You should bid say at 20 to buy and watch the price movement during trading hours; if it is going down from 20.52, then you should consider reducing your bid to say 19.80 or so.

  2. "A Nobody" is wrong.  This is a very active stock trading millions of shares on an average day.

There is no ASK price and there is no BID price because there is no market.  Today is Saturday and the market is closed.  The numbers on this display are a snapshot of what was going on at the end of the day on Friday.  These look to me like Friday's extended hours quotes.  Extended hours trading numbers frequently are silly, with people putting in ridiculous bids and asks hoping that they can profit for somebody being desperate to trade or somebody making a mistake.

Wait until the market opens and see what the display looks like then.

  3. The market is 20.52 - 31.33 Apparently this is a thin, inactive market.

You didn't provide the size of the market so we don't know how many are bidding or offering. You also didn't provide how many you want to buy, all of this is important

You know that there are people bidding 20.52 so you can't buy it any cheaper than, so don't even try.

You might try to buy it 25, so enter your bid at 25 and see what happens.

You're not going to beat the market, so don't even try, the market is always right.
