  1. I'm not gonna write my opinions about these countries, because they're nearly like the opinions of the other people. I'm just gonna write something about my country Bulgaria - With those stealing money asslicking mafia politicians in power, who don't care about the opinion of the nation and do the things what they want to do it won't get much better, but still it's comparatively getting better. And I hope so... But out of the politics, Bulgaria is a very beautiful country with matchless nature, history, historic landmarks, folkore and many many more things. And I'm proud to be from this country...

P.S. Just to add something to Archer1's comment:

In the minds of Balkan people there is a thought like this "It's not important to be good for me, it's important to be bad for my neighbor". In "neighbor" I mean neighbor country. So much envy.. And envy is a typical Balkan trait. It really is like in a classroom: the students are divided in small groups. But as usual appears something wrong, the students start to quarrel and in the end the group splits. And everyone is on his own. But what can you do?! Now we love each other, and in the next moment we hate each other, maaaany many examples. Maybe that's because we're almost the same, like brothers. And brothers often fight, but they still can't be without each other. When we are together we're like.. unstoppable, but when we talk about territories we become enemies.

  2. Your question was answered by a couple of users but l will write to you the Balkan motto - slogan:

"Be friend  with your neighbors' neighbor!"

and also, my neighbor's enemy is my friend!

(Sad but true) It's a mess up region but what can we do....we are part of it.

(ex. Greece with Serbia, FYROM with Turkey etc)

*** Mony you are absolutely right! Your answer couldn't reflect more my thoughts!

  3. i think slovenia and hungary are mostly located in the central europe romania and european turkey which is called thrace are in the balkans this region is bound in the north by the julian alps between slovenia and italy balkan which is a turkish word means "mountain" so i'm so sure of that hungary is not in this region at least

  4. Here it is... without the intention to offend anyone.

Slovenia - they will all tell you they are Central Europe, not Balkans.

    Croatia - the same (usually)

Bosnia - still suffering the war consequences

Serbia - still has problems with democracy and stuff - people supporting war criminals etc.

Macedonia - having its own problems, not really a developed country

Greece - the most developed in the region

    Bulgaria - getting better

Albania - pretty poor and undeveloped

Turkey - one of the most developed and nice for tourists

Romania - getting better each day; not as touristy as Bulgaria, but maybe a bit more "western"

Hungary - more Central Europe than the Balkans

  5. Many people in Croatia don't want to consider themselves a Balkan country. I'm glad you remembered to mention Bosnia, most people forget it... LOL :)

I think no one should answer your question in the way you want to (giving countries bad names etc.). Each country is unique in its own way and has some good and bad sides. But if you really insist, I can describe my country (Bosnia & Herzegovina) as a very nice country which has suffered a lot.

  6. If the Balkan zone is a classroom then all you will see are each of the countries as typical students, studying hard, and trying to get by or make the grade and better themselves and hope to get into that new cool student club call the European Union.

  7. Slovenia and Croatia - they think they are better than others

Greece - the bitc* and the bad guy

    Bulgaria - not much better

    Turkey - ok

    Bosnia - ok

    Albania - poor and dirty

Serbia - some good and some bad things

    Romania - ok

Hungary - not in the Balkans

    Macedonia - THE BEST!
