  1. "Hebetudinous"  I like that word.  It's just fun to say.

  2. Roget's II: The New Thesaurus

Why are you baiting them - ? Just to see if they will take the time and make the effort to type in a few words on the internet they can clearly use and do use - ?

The above answers appear to prove your point

I am not a Christian though - so - opps you have proven your point again

  3. Wow! Another for my list. And I do NOT mean a list of big words. I regularly use polysyllabic words and a ten syllable word from me in a conversation is not at all out of the realm of possibility. When Yahoo's spell checker shows I have a misspelled word, disregarding typo's, the spell checker itself is in every case so far the one that is wrong because I used such an uncommon and/or large word. The list of which I refer to is one of a certain type of question. My hat is off to you, sir. Your question eminently qualifies. I shall have to at least skim others of yours for further possible examples. If you have others equally as brilliant, a scan will not at all be necessary.

  4. Five syllables!  You win the big word award for the day!

  5. That is a mighty big word to be so antipathetical with!

  6. The last time I looked the Bible didn't say anything about the nuclear theory of matter. Come to think of it, I haven't met even a fundamentalist who claims that it does.

  7. hebetudinous (heb-i-TOOD-n-uhs -TYOOD-) adjective

Dull or lethargic, especially relating to the mind.

[From Late Latin hebetudo (dullness), from Latin hebes (dull).]

"Examination of precedents led the judge to his conclusion, but he had something to say first: 'It would be hebetudinous and obtuse to fail to be cognizant of the adverse consequences of a ruling in this case." James J. Kilpatrick; A Clown And a Blowhard on the Bench; Buffalo News; Apr 10, 1993.

    That is conjecture.

  8. Spiritual KNOWLEDGE neighbor.  Eternal wisdom.  Not tangible to the hunk of flesh inside your skull.  So now you can see that your $100,000 word hebetudinous, is not applicable to spiritual matters.

On the contrary unbelievers like yourself limit the knowledge they seek to worshipping the brain matter enclosed with your own cranium??  (lol)

All you need to do is BELIEVE, and then you will see.  None of your questions are original, so don't pride yourself or you'll end up like the devil who committed the first sin.  PRIDE.

Remember, God is a spirit.  He makes the rules, not man.  You must come to Him in FAITH to see what you will NEVER see with your cerebellum.

  9. hebetudinous??? sounds like a g*y dinosaur

  10. Because they believe its the source of all knowledge.

    ?

    .

  14. i have no idea what that word means so im going to look it up and have it as my word of the day

  15. I think the hebetudinous died out 65 million years ago with the rest of the dinosaurs.

    Deist

PS they might be to dull of mind to get what that word means.

  16. The Bible isn't the source of all knowlege.  It is the source of some knowledge.  Just as National Geographic is also a source of knowledge.  What makes you think ALL christians seem so dull?  maybe you haven't been surrounded by real christians.....only the ones that have no idea what to do except recite hymns, Bible verses, and thinks like "my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ......."

Although the meaning behind may be important, I think it get's to be too much like the Pledge of Allegiance.  You say it so much, it begins to sound like Shakespeere and no one knows what you're talking about. Kind of like my answer!

Anyways, you need to be a little more clear with what you are asking.  What does seeming dull or lethargic have to do with Christians believing the Bible is a source of knowledge?

  17. hubba what?

  18. While I am glad to see that you recognize the authority and truth of the Bible, you overstate its intent.  The Bible is a revelation of the one true God.  It has never been considered to be the book of all knowledge.

  19. Because it is boring enough to cure anyone of sleeping pills and all nonsense to boot .

  20. This is the first time since I have been on Y!A that I had to actually go to dictionary.com XD

The reason they are hebetudinous is BECAUSE they believe they have all the answers. What else would one need to know if one knew everything?

And actually David V. hebetud{INOUS} is an adjective, hebetude is the noun form.

EDIT: David V. deleted his answer so w/e
