I am sending in a submission for a movie, and if the casting director is interested in setting up a meeting with me, I'd have to go to LA from Texas. Would the casting director provide airfare or would I have to pay my way?

I've never submitted for a role like this, and need help.

Thanks(:

  1. you would have to pay.

  2. You would have to pay for your own travel costs. If he accepts you for the job, you may then negotiate some reimbursement.

  3. I agree with the other respondents that most cases, you would have to pay.  The exception is if this is a callback and you are one of the final, final candidates, and they want to read you with other actors, then, your agent could probably negotiate with them to pay.   I've never paid to bring someone out for a first audition but I would be willing to pay for them if they were in the finals and we were 90% sure we really wanted to hire them.
