  1. Sorry! not trying to be unreasonable but I won't cos I will like to protect my livelihood, don't want you to set fire to it cos you love the look or get your vibes from looking at something burning down. Sorry!

  2. Did you burn down your place of employment? If so, did you have good reason? would you ever think of doing it again? if not, then sure,  If your a good man, a hard worker, have no intent of ever commiting a crime again and do as your told i would have no problem hiring you. I am a firm believer in second chances.

  3. I work in the legal department of a corporation that routinely conducts background checks on all new employees and we have a set of guidelines that we consider for each offense.  Factors involved in our guidelines include whether the crime was a felony or a misdemeanor, whether it is a violent crime, and/or whether it is, in our judgment, morally wrong.  For example, writing bad checks is a criminal offense.  If your history shows you've done that once, we overlook it because we know everyone is capable of making mistakes, but if your criminal history shows you've done it several times, that speaks to character and we would not employ you.

To answer your specific question, no we would not hire you.  There are lots of offenses that we excuse but Arson is not one of them.

EDIT:  And it is extremely important to note that we only take adverse action regarding CONVICTIONS!  Being charged with a crime does not equal guilt.  If someone was charged but was found not guilty or it was dropped, we consider it no criminal history.

  4. It would depend on the circumstances of your crime and how well you have improved yourself since then. This is not a black and white issue.

  5. look at it this way. there are certain first offenses that can be seen as "I understand" for ex. DUI+young+at a party...etc....never got in trouble again for years. Some can relate or have been there.

But there are some first offenses like (burglary, Drugs, Arson, Battery..etc) that even though you were young and dumb.....sorry charlie........I'd take the frat party dui guy/gal anyday.

look at your current president if you don't believe me

  6. NOPE!

  7. People make mistakes.... big ones.

I don't need to know all of the details. If a person can speak properly and has no attitude I will listen. I go more for body language. My biggie is if a person can shake your hand and look you straight in the eye when talking..... you are hired.

Often that person will be ten times more loyal and a better worker. You gave them a chance and they know that you are a fair and even.

  8. Well what did you burn down ? An why ? that would be my first 2 questions to you.  Though you are right , a person can change his / hear ways. So it would only be fair that I hire you to give you a chance !
