If the company went bankrupt - how would you word this on your resume?

  1. Mention it, but be sure to say that it wasn't your fault!!!


  2. You should never make any negative remarks or comments on your resume about your previous places of employment, even if they are true. Your reason for seeking employment should never be because you were forced out of your old job (for whatever reason and again, even if its true). If the place that went bankrupt was NOT your last place of employment, chances are your interviewer will not ask you why you left there. If it WAS your last place of employment, you can mention that they went out of business, only if they ask during the interview ("do not use the word bankrupt") but quickly turn your answer around to enforce why you want to work at the new company. It may sound something like this:

    INTERVIEWER: "Are you still there now?" or "why did you leave?"

    YOU: "I left because the company was unable to stay in business however I chose this company because of the opportunities I found for me to be able to acquire new experience and contribute as an efficient member of your team.
