    To find the diameter, use this formula:

    D= 2r


  2. diameter = 2 times the radius, so the radius is equal to 6mm. the formula for area of a circle is pi times the radius squared. so pi times 6mm squared is equal to 36mm squared times pi or approximately 113 mm squared

  3. Use the formula A=(pi)r^2

    since the diameter is 12, the radius will be 6.

    So you do A=(pi)(6^2)

    =36(pi)

    =113.0973355

  4. area of circle = radius x radius x pi(3.14)

    radius = 1/2 diameter

    diameter = 12mm

    radius = 12mm x .5 = 6mm

    area = 6mm x 6mm x 3.14

    6 x 6 x 3.14 = 113.04mm
