  1. You are making a grave mistake looking for government to solve your problem.  Ever wonder why environmental types are called 'green'?  They were born yesterday.

  2. That's the thing...they don't care. The government is really letting our country go wasting money overseas.

  3. Economic systems are complex and stopping things suddenly can have big consequences on jobs and peoples lives. Governments have difficult decisions to make that invovle millions of peoples lives, corporations and many other factors, they're often in a very difficult situation where its hard to do the 'right thing'.

Corporations have a lot of sway over politics, and the biggest corporations are in the petro-chemical industries and arms, two industries with a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.

It is a complex question though and not an easy one to answer as there are so many things involved.

There is a lot of interesting books on the subject, i recently read 'end of oil' which is an easy to read introduction into a lot of the factors involved. Give it a read.

  4. compared to the pollution from one coal fired power plant the exhaust from all the yearly launches is negligible....

and the benefits.....from, say, communications satellites the allow the internet to run, or weather satellites that allow farmers to plant at the right times and people to prepare for hurricanes I think would allow a few puffs of smoke........

and do you know just what is in  a rockets exhaust, the chemical composition and just how may pounds of just what as a percentage of the Earths atmosphere? What you are seeing is mostly atmospheric water being heated to steam by the exhaust flames passage.......steam, like what comes out your teapot........

  5. What is all the smoke coming from the exhaust of a rocket. The rocket burns hydrogen and oxygen so the exhaust is water. The only hope of our world for energy and materials our civilization needs to grow and survive is to move into space where unlimited resources are available. Only ignorant Luddites or people who hope to profit from causing material shortages are against this new frontier we are facing.

This is the same thing that comes about whenever a new frontier is opened to exploration and settlement the fear mongers and the profiteers work like mad to scare the less educated to reap as much profit as they can from those who will benefit most from the new frontier in better jobs, more money and better living conditions. Those who profit most from the status quo are those who work the hardest at the scare mongering.

BY the way nuclear energy is the cleanest form of energy, coal is by far the cheapest, and it ivery clean now due to the epa working to get it that way, we have more coal in our country than oil in the world yet the libs wt to retirct minig it, hmmm could it be they are agaist the USA being a contiuned super power and leader of the world..YES

  11. If you mean the US government, it's probably because they've been asked by tens of thousands of scientists to reject the Kyoto Protocol. This is about 100 times as many scientists than the number that first came up with the theory.
