If the government had decided to have its "secret prisons" here in the US?

Do you think people would've found out? I personally think that the only thing that would stand out is the overcrowded domestic prison system here and that it would have to be pretty much a military institallation.

we shouldn't have had them in any prison...we should have just shot them on the battle field......take no prisoners

edit: gitmo has been a base there for years....no big secret there, and long before 2002

What secret prisons?  Gitmo?  Doesn't seem to be very much of a secret.

Well, you can bet that we'd have found out about it, but probably not for a while. You cannot believe how much the opposing party would love to find out that something like that happened on US soil.

The political costs would be horrific, so I can't imagine any Administration, even one as evil as the one we currently have, would do that. That's why they did the old "extraordinary rendition" thing.
