He wants to wear a light gray colored suit. I just bought my dress, it is an ivory strapless dress with gold flecks throughout it also has lace on it. Our wedding is going to be outside at a ranch. Now, I just can't come up with what the colors should be!

Anybody have any ideas of a color scheme for my summer country wedding?

  1. Use gray, cream, and all shades of pink.  A fourth color would be shades of green (because of the greenery in the floral arrangements).

  2. You just described the wedding I am having in 2 days! We don't have "colors" per se, we just have, "pastels". All the tableclothes are different pastel colors and the flowers are too.

  3. Maybe just golds and ivorys.  You don't need a big, bold color. Although maybe throw in turquoise or tiffany blue would be cool.  Actually, I think a celadon (light green) color with the golds and creams.  That would be great for summer.

  4. Those are pretty normal colors for the bride and groom to wear.  I think you have a lot of choice in the color department.

Since you'll be outdoors, different shades of green would be lovely!  Or a champagne color- so pretty!

  5. Really grey?

I don't know what to match the guys up to that?! He doesn't want to do ivory too

  6. Peach or lavender?

  7. Sounds beautiful!  I am not a fashionista, but seems like keeping with the natural color palette of the venue would be nice...what are the natural flowers of the area?  What are you having in your bouquet?  You could coordinate with that.

    Good luck with everything.

  8. They can be anything you want!

For our July wedding, the attendants wore printed dresses, and we took our colours from there - lilac, pink, yellow and light teal. The men wore light grey tuxes, and my gown was white.

Maybe you would consider canary yellow/medium blue - and have a sunflower theme.

  9. Navy, Ivory & gold....Rasberry, Ivory & gold

  10. I think any pastel colors would probably look nice with the gray and ivory.

  11. Any pastels will go nicely with gray & ivory.  But I will say, if I was planning that wedding, I'd have to insist the groom where a suit that's more tannish in color (like you see in many beach weddings).  For one, it matches your ivory color better & compliments the gold accents.  With his gray suit, it sort of makes one think of silver & that kind of clashes with the gold in your wedding dress.  That's just my opinion though.
