Not sure exactly what you mean, you mean you've been in teh Uk for 4 years on a student visa and only now doing studies?

Just tell them the truth, what you have been doing in the meantine, working etc.

Just tell him/her that I had taken participate in some events , trying to develop some of the qualities  required to persuade the carrier in it.

You had a deep in heart interest from childhood that's why you are going to make carrier in it.

3>Small speech.  "I know study in foreign country is not a piece of cake. It requires money , maturity , understanding to do it very well. I was preparing my self for it by earning some money such that it's not a burden on my family. I want to do it on my own. Now I think I had enough resources available , for making it a better option".

4>Don't forget to show some certificates of your resent projects , work experience etc.

On the interview day just follow the steps.

1> Most important keep you r documents in order.

2>Just be cool , explain as if  he/she is small child and keep your calm .

3>Use simple words don't use jargon, to keep it simple to understand.
