  1. They're not prisoners of the Iraqi government.  A lot of them are not even Iraqis.  That would be like capturing a Mexican committing a crime in China and then holding him in a jail in Russia.

It just doesn't make any sense.

  2. Because Iraq is not holding them prisoner, the US is.

  3. I am not a Liberal, but I believe that EVERYBODY deserves their day in court.  What would you do if our criminal politicians decide that YOU are a terrorist?  Should YOU be tortured until you confess?

If any of these people are convicted of terrorism, or any other crime, they need to be punished, including execution.  But until they have been convicted, they are presumed to be innocent.

Even former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who has admitted violating the rights of American citizens, with his illegal enforcement of the Patriot Act, deserves his day in court.  If he is found guilty, he needs to go to jail.

We don't decide that people are guilty, and then hold them without charge, try them in secret and torture them.  That is something that they do in Communist nations, and n**i Germany.  I guess it says something about our politicians, huh?

  4. As far as I know, none of the terrorist at GITMO, come from Iraq.

They were all caught in Afghanistan.

What we should do, is just fly them back to Afghanistan.

Turn them over to the Afgani Government.

So the Afgani's can just shoot all of them.

  5. OK - for the really, really, really slow:

    THEY ARE NOT TERRORISTS.

THEY HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH A CRIME.

  6. And how many of them are Iraqi citizens ?

Besides, Iraq is an occupied territory, not a sovereign state.

ALSO, the USSC slapped down the Bush administration and reinstated habeas corpus.

They are ENTITLED to a fair hearing and not a kangaeroo court.
