If the minimum age for gymnastics is 16, then why do other countries have gymnast that are 15?

i was watching the women's gymnastics competition and they showed some girls from a couple European countries who's age was displayed as 15. How come no one made a fuss about that instead of picking on the chinese team?

Because they are turning 16 this year.

Because they are eligible as long as they are going to turn 16 this year (2008).

Because they have to be 16 in the Olympic year, which means that if their birthday is Dec. 31, 2008, they qualify.
