  1. Because France and America have Disney Land

  2. America was started by folks who wanted to get away from the monarch and for religious freedom.

  3. The same reason you watch a car wreck!!!!!

  4. Nobody goes to america for it's history or tradition,it is to see the scenery.People go to France to see the magnificent museums and people come to England to see palaces and castles that are still inhabited by kings, queens, princes and aristocracy,a functioning monarchy.Would tourists still come to England if there was no monarchy? The answer is yes but would there still be as many?Maybe not.

  5. Well France has it's history, I will have to think about what the US has.

  6. well i am in america and think we do have a monarchy, king crazy man is in charge!

  7. Actually. France still has a royal house. They are just not in power. One of the recent heirs to the crown of France lived in Canada, but I don't know if he is still alive.

Canada, Britain, Norway, Belgium, Monaco, Luxembourg and Holland for instance are still monarchies. And they do well with them. Whatever shakes your tree.

  8. We fought like h**l to get RID of 'em.  We have Disneyland instead ;).  They have a castle.  And a princess or three.

  9. It is a type of "branding".

France is all about style and food.

America is all about modern and glamour.

England is all about history and civilization.

The image is not going to change easily. I know that my Canada is all about our great outdoors. Is the image insightful and correct? No, but is gets people on the plane to see the country.

  10. Well said, I fully agree.
