  1. They are already starting to cover their backs by saying expect some "noise" for the next couple of years (a German climate modeler announce ten years of "noise", Hansen from NASA said that if the sun does not pick up expect seven years of noise) but then global warming will come back with a vengeance.

  2. Global nottoobadforthistimeoftheyearing, or maybe Global lookedasifitwasclearingupquitenicelying.

  3. It has been cool in some places in 2008, but quite hot in other places.   You have to take average temperatures over a period of time to have a good idea of what is happening.   Most scientists agree that temperatures have increased a degree or two over the past several years, worldwide.   Here in Oregon, we have set several records for daily high temperatures this summer.  What cool summer are you referring to?

  4. Well Obama wants to get us off gasoline by the next ten years :DD!

  5. global cooling

  6. That's kind of what "global warming" is, you might have cool period in places where it is usually hot, but like this year, the polar ice caps have continued to deteriorate. There have been major cracks in ice fields that haven't seen change in thousands of years and it's gotten so bad up north that polar bears who have been used to swimming from ice berg to ice berg, have been drowning because they start out swimming and lo and behold, they is nothing but water instead of ice. I can not believe people who say Global Warming is a myth....who would lie about something like that and for what purpose? Don't ask a republican about global warming, ask a scientist who isn't paid by republicans.

  7. If we continue to get extraordinarily heavy rainfall, we would have to start finding an explanation other than that the oceans are creating more evaporation.

A period of global cooling does come with a lot of rainfall too, and well distributed. We would be expecting no drought in Australia.

But India appears to be getting a lot of rain with no hint of drought that has been a bother in recent warming years. If major rainfall events return to Australia this winter, can we assume they are back for  many years?

I ask this because it is very easy to challenge predictions, much harder to offer better. Is anyone ready to predict  that warming trends have reversed long term? I have not seen a long enough trend reversal to offer that.
