I know this is something Nancy and Harry would love to see go through. Two small issues with it. First of all, wouldn't this be very close to a violation of the 2nd Amendment? Secondly, which could be amusing to see, would a Conservative viewpoint be allowed on the major networks such as ABC,CBS, NBC and NPR? And by the way, didn't the LIberals have their own Talk Network that was a miserable flop? Oh Yeah, Air America, LOL!!!

  1. We can only hope.

It would be a violation of the First Amendment.

  2. No, are you kidding?

Under the previous implementation, it was determined that network broadcasting was by definition 'fair', because they reported news, not opinion, so no accommodation for other points of view was necessary.

The Fairness Doctrine is not about fairness, it's about silencing dissent.  The goal is not to balance what is broadcast, but to limit what you hear.

  3. Yes, the Fairness Doctrine, when it was in effect before, worked both ways.  Each side of an issue is guaranteed equal time to express their views.  "Air America" was a C.I.A. operation in Vietnam.
