If the "trac off" function on a Chevy is malfunctioning, how can you tell? And is it serious for the car?

If it comes on in the summer, when there is no snow , is this malfunctioning? Is this serious, as in riskful for the health of the vehicle to neglect to fix it ?

How much time do you have to fix it ?

this is most likley a problem in the pcm or system that ri

uns the vehicle.if a malfunction exists here the traction controll system is turned off by the brake controll module because durring a traction event the pcm is not capable of performing functions it needs to accomplish to regain traction.with this lamp on the vehicle will not have traction controll.this will not damage your vehicle

This lamp comes on to tell you there is a problem with the traction control systen.This is not harmful to the car and will not cause a safety problem while driving.When you find the time have the dealer check this system for problems and they will quote you a price to fix it.Please be sure the park brake lever is all the way down beacause this will cause the lamp to come on.Best of luck.
