I thought it was that every so often the sun loses layers soooo in theory you could tell how old the earth is by the size of the sun.

Wouldn't that be decreasing?

When it has expanded to 300 million kilometers in diameter most definitely.

I believe it will have a definite affect on our climate. As the temperatures rise, the population goes down.
