If the term "Deuce" is originally French, why do they use "Egalite" and not Deuce at Rolland Garros?

  2. no they don't! they still use the term "deuce".

  3. The terms derives from a French term ("a deux du jeu" meanding "two points from the game"), but it is not a French word, it is an English word.  Therefore the French use a 1 word term that makes the most sense in the language.

    As you say they French use "Egalite" for a reoccurring Deuce call, and use "Quarante à" (Forty each) for the first Deuce call.
