If the terminal velocity of a object is when the weight of the object is match by the wind resistance.....?

made from it falling...........and there is no wind resistance in space....wouldn't a planet with no air or (wind) have object fall and keep falling faster and faster?

  1. yeah im pretty sure thats correct cause is "space" a chemical that could add resistance?...oh wait umm theres also surface area of the falling side so idk


  2. Yes you are correct. The object will reach a terminal velocity when the upward force resulting from air resistence balances the downward force of the falling body. On a planet with no atmosphere the body would continue to accelerate to the ground at an ever increasing velocity - no terminal velocity.

    This was demonstrated by the astronauts on the moon who showed that a feather and a solid mass fell to the ground at the same velocity.
