If the theory of evolution is true, can you explain emperor penguins, and Bats?

Emperor penguins do some crazy things in order to hatch their cute little babies, Specifically explain HOW they figured out how to do what they do? and from what bird did they evolve?

Also Bats, how did they find food while their sonar was developing? Specifically please, not general answers.

From what animal did bats evolve? (i understand there are no fossils for the anscestors so please explain How they would have started to grow wings? Specifically please...

thank you ...

  1. its called darwins theory of evolution, survival of the fitest as it were.

    More or less we dont know the origional ancestor of birds (the common ancestor of the penguin/flying birds) the theory itself is best explained visualy, i attached a small 30 second doco which does the job, as for cats, it is believed that they evolved along a different strand, similar to birds, but with a different approach.

    Anyone who tells you that evolution is not true is a moron, quite simply, and yeah, tell them I said so, it has been proven, even smaller beings have evolved over the past thousand years.

    Most people who say evolution is not tru say so because they have not been educated properly or do not have an open mind, it is a pity that when religion is supposed to help us open our minds to ideas it really closes them for many.

    Just to argue the case a little further, adam and eve had two sons, one killed the other, hence grandma eve and grandad adam had to still repopulate the earth even though eve probably had already gone through menopause!

    done

    on to the subject at hand.

    Penguins;

    evolved from common ancestor, through trial and error, most probably moved to the arctic ages ago (were talking their ancestors probably got there either on ice sheets/floats or by walking,(yeah, it was connected to australia ages ago)

    Bats;

    No ancient fossils exist, this doesnt mean they popped up out of no where, it means they were not near mud flats or such areas when they died, because they are mammals their ancestors may of been similar to moles (in regards to finding food) or more likely like possums (climbing around for fruit - both sahre the characteristic of a pouch followed by the joey on the mothers back/stomach)

    more or less, the ancestor for both has not been proven/found due to age/time, the bones are more likely to be dust by now sadly, but we have evidence probably upto a few thousand years before the encestor, which isnt much in regards to the history of earth.

    hope that helps

  2. First off, there are many animals for which no ancestor has been found in the fossil record. This doesn't mean the ancestor did not exist, it simply means it has yet to be found or no examples were preserved. The remains of most animals are not preserved because the proper conditions are usually lacking.

    But as for bats, fossils have been found and here is a very good article on the subject and echo location.

    Bats use sonar to find their food in flight and navigate in the dark, but they are not blind and they certainly aren't deaf. The sonar is a very fine tuned hearing system. There were never bats flying around with a half developed sonar system. There were always bats flying around with a good enough hearing system. Your misconception is in seeing the end result as the completed result and the previous results as undeveloped enough to function.

    Similar deal for penguins.

  3. Evolution is not possible.

    It is a THEORY first of all. It should not be taught as fact, since it is not.

    It is also a theory with tons of flaws, that no one ever seems to notice.

    Someday people will look back at evolution and laugh, just as we now look back on spontanious generation and laugh.

  4. I'm not sure which specific behaviours of Emperor penguins you consider 'crazy'.  Considering that they work, they're obviously not that crazy.

    As for the bats - although the insectivorous bats use sonar as their primary prey finding sense, it is not their only sense.  They do still have pretty good vision, and can definitely pick out prey and catch it even without their remarkable echolocation abilities.

    Bats come from a generalized insectivore ancestor, most likely similar to a shrew.  Interestingly enough, there are some species of shrews that will actually squeak, and locate prey by listening to the sounds of the echoes - primitive echolocation, and a perfect example of a working transitional form.

    Since bats are mainly chasing down aerial insects, it is thought that their early insectivore ancestors probably developed wings first as a method of either boosting their jumps and collecting the prey, or gliding from trees after leaping for the prey (as flying squirrels, colugos and other critters do today).

  5. All of the Emperor Penguins who could not do all those crazy things, died, and left only the ones who could.

    All the bats without sonar died by flying into the walls of the caves, and left only the ones with sonar.

    Now explain a Cleaner Wrase, a fish that will swim right into the mouth a predator to clean the predator's mouth? How did it learn it's technique without getting eaten?

    How about a duck-billed platypus? There is no evidence of it ever evolving?

    How about influenza, which evolves to a new strain every year?

  6. A prof could give a lecture on the specifics of evolution for each.  You are asking two questions.

    First off, they did not figure out any thing.  They adapted over a period of 55 million years to be as they are today.  There have been many failures, the successful ones survived, as a population, and are the population we know.
