  1. The universe did not explode.  It expanded. It is still expanding.  It looks like it will expand forever.

It appears that the dimensions expanded along with the universe.  If there was to be a Big Crunch (which does not look likely) then the dimensions would disappear with the "crunching" of the universe.

Same thing with time: it did not exist before the beginning of expansion; it would not exist -- in our frame of reference -- after a Big Crunch).

If the universe is really made up of many dimensions, of which only three have expanded, then it is possible that there exists a basic universal time unit -- a "tick-tock" inherent in all matter --  where the fabric tears at every tick, at every point, and six of the un-expanded dimensions fold around the tear to keep it from the expanded dimensions.

Research into this actually led to a new branch of advanced mathematics.

The math is lovely (and very complicated) but I don't buy it as an explanation for our universe (I'm more into a 3-dimensional, flat and infinite universe).

  2. 1) the universe already exploded, it can't explode again.

    2) if the universe crunched, it can explode again

    3) exploding and crunching shouldn't have anything to do with dimensions as they are supposed to be seperate universes. if there are more dimensions in this universe then they sure would go too..

"ripped" usually means a hole between dimensions, like a black hole or a worm hole. not really related to crunching and exploding, i think.

  3. Now that's something I hadn't contemplated. If it happens, give me a shout and let me know.As long as it doesn't interfere with the different dimensions I employ in the bedroom ,i'm not really concerned too much.

  4. Its like saying a balloon which has pooped will do a double pop. No

The Universe has been expanding since the big bang and its only expanding quicker and dimensions are moving quicker ie time. When you grow up time seems to be going quicker because it is its moving faster. The universe will keep expanding till the energy is all turnt into mass and maybe then will there be another big bang and if the universe were to explode of course all dimensions would also
