If the volume of two different type objects say wood and steel are same, would the mass be same too ?

i dont even know if it makes sense but for some reason i was thinking about it so thought should put it up .

  1. No. The mass in this scenario depends on volume and density. The steel object has higher density and is therefore heavier.


  2. Mass = volume * density

    So if the volumes are the same

    AND

    the densities are the same then the masses are the same

    Density of steel is something like 6 g/cc and wood is < 1 g/cc so the answer is NO

    A cubic foot of steel weighs a lot more than

    a cubic foot of wood.
