  1. First of all, with extraordinary few exceptions no educated person in the history of Western Civilization from the third century B.C. onward believed that the earth was flat.  It is more myth than fact that people believed this....

As for your question, where would the ships go?  Obviously they would fall onto the backs of four huge elephants which are in turn standing on the back of an enormous turtle.

  2. out into space!!!

  3. another, wider disk underneath this one..

  4. Ok so once upon a time a guy named olysses who taked his boat ya see. and he sailed off of this edge ya see and he when down the river of um...something...whats the word. o yeah. the river styx, Which i think was made of blood right. Anyway so he went down there and it just so happened to be that That's where all the dead people go right. so there was skeletons and stuff like that walking around ya see. Then he said hi to his moma or something and his crew rowed outa there right and then they when back and started there hazarous journy back ya see. and the almost died the end.

Lets just say that was some Greek Mythology. Right there it is.

And if you want to get all technical about it. if the world was flat then the edge of the earth would be a great big old water fall and then gravity would inverse itself and right in the midle of the edge and the under side the bottoms of the water fall would meet and you boat would smash into a million pecies and you would die and you body would float of into the infanant space that we claim exists today. The End Again.

That it right there it goes boom just like that.

  5. They thought their ships would fall off the edge into oblivion...

  6. It would be like the movie, "Pleasantville".  When Main Street ends, it begins again.  If the world was flat, it would be a whole different landscape formed by weather unknown to us.  However, we wouldn't necessarily require gravity anymore.  It would be much easier to get out of bed in the morning.

  7. Theoretically, I don't believe that the gravitational pull of Earth in the solar system would still have the same affect if the world was flat.  Notice how all of the planets stay in the pull and maintain their flow along their set paths, and they all seem to have a round structure?

I figure that if the world was flat we would all be dead anyways because we would have free-fallen away from the sun or into the sun, most likely the latter, and we would all be dead.

So yeah, tis hard to make ships when you're dead.

  8. Onto the other side.

  9. Ill let you know the next time i expierience it

  10. Are you still assuming that gravity works? If the ships fell off the horizon, they'd fall below to sea monsters. Or maybe they go where luggage goes when they lose it from yoour flight. Can you be a little more specific?
