If there's a palmetto bug (aka giant flying cockroach) in my room, will it come out during the day?

I'm deathly afraid of bugs...and last night I was on my computer and all the sudden a giant (seriously, 2 inches) palmetto bug crawls on my desk next to me...i worked up enough bravery to try to kill it 4 times but failed, and eventually, this stuipd bug kicked me outta my room...i closed the door and put a towel under it cuz as much as i don't want it in my room, i'd rather know it's there in hopes of another shot at killing it, than forever wonder. BUT i also work in my room...and it's time to work!

I know it's in here somewhere...what do you think the chances are it will come out and bother me again?

Is there any chance it would've found its way back outside? (it had to come in through a closed window, i've seen a dead one stuck in the gasket before)

Cockroaches will not leave on their own accord.  They will consume some building products like glues and paper so a clean house is not a perfect cure. They also like to lay eggs in good habitat.  So.

1. If you see one you want to kill it, you will hear the crunch when you step on it or hit it with a book.

2.  They do not usually come out during the day so you may want to check around the house in the middle of the night one in awhile.

3. If you see more than one you want to contact a local exterminator. I have lived in Florida houses that were otherwise clean that over 100 of the big guys were killed in one session.

If you tried to kill it 4 times, I'd say the chances of it coming back are slim. It's probably in a dark spot hating life right about now.  I seriously doubt that it found its' way back outside. Sorry.

Make sure that your place is very clean, no food debris laying around and that windows/doors/basements are adequately sealed. Pesticides are always a last resort.

well one time i lived in this trailer and cockroaches every where and they come out at night and in the day.   YOUR IN TROUBLE
