If there's always a best man at a wedding then why doesn't the bride marry him instead of the groom?

Doesn't this just flaunt the fact that the groom is just at the most second best?

  1. The best man is what the man has and the bride has bridesmaids.

  2. that is quite interesting , i never really thought of that.  I could never marry my fiances best man anyway he may be in his twenties , but he still acts like 12!!   So maybe when you get married Ben Taft, pick an ugly best man!!

  3. Lol NO. She's in love with her groom. Everyone knows the groom's the best man at the wedding. Just because his best man is called the 'best man' doesn't mean he is. It would just be odd to call him the 2nd best man, that would only confuse people into thinking there was 2 best men. The groom is the best, it's his day silly. I see your logic though.

  4. Now, THAT is a great question....I may sit on the porch and ponder my life if I had married our best man!  He was pretty hot, all those years ago! <G>

  5. LOL....great perspective!!

  6. That's too funny. I've actually thought that myself and laughed privately about it. But, in reality, he's the best man friend for the groom and not the best man for the bride!

  7. Because the best man is chosen by the Groom and it's usually a friend of his. I don't think this kind of rule would go over well. lol

  8. It does, it does.

Want to be my groom's best man whenever I have a wedding?

I'll make this reality and suddenly change plans on the groom.

    Marry the best man instead.

    Sounds like a plan.
