Yes there are.  Sock: white marking that extends higher than the fetlock but not as high as the knee or hock. This marking is also sometimes called a "boot."

One white foot, buy him.

Two white feet, try him.

Three white feet, be on the sly.

Four white feet, pass him by.

The other says just the opposite:

One white foot, keep him not a day,

Two white feet, send him far away,

Three white feet, sell him to a friend,

Four white feet, keep him to the end.

Your choice depending on your experience.

Secretariat had three white socks.

ok yeah... horse socks wouldn't work because they would get dirty becasue the shoes don't go over the horse's whole foot

Yes there are horse socks.  Race horses wear them between warm up and the race to keep there muscle loose for the race. Actually they are call socks but are really leg warmers.
