How do Seagulls know when you drop food on the ground. They just show up from no where. I can go out & just open a bag of potatochips & they just show up. How do they know you have food?

  2. Your a person, theyd expect food.

Cuz zo many people are feeding them bread and such.

But when you drop them I think they see if very well or something. Im not sure.

  3. they are always on the watch for food, and it seems they always see when that window of opportunity opens, sometimes they will be awhile, but before long there they are to pick up your droppings......another of our many wonders,

  4. Birds do have an incredible sense of sight, they may see you from some distance. I have seen on a few bird shows (Discovery Channel or Animal planet, don't remember...or both!) That a bird of prey at his "cruising altitude" can see a mouse on the forest floor. There was another thing that says that (if a bird could read) a bird of prey could read the headline of a newspaper from across a football field.

  5. They possibly came from fields they live in a lot of other habitats then just the beach you know. There not dumb even though gull have small brain their really smart bird. There gulls in Wisconsin. And Wisconsin is not even near a ocean.
