If there ever was a Moby d**k film, who in your opinions should play Ishmael and Ahab?

A made for TV version was filmed back in 1998. Patrick Stewart played Ahab (and was great in filling that role) and Henry Thomas was Ishmael. Below is the link to other information about the movie.

Ishmael's not really that interesting is he?  A classic Victorian passive narrator - I think anyone could take on that role although Ben Whishaw (Perfume, I'm Not There) could probably inject some nervy energy into it.  

Ahab is one of the great cinematic roles for mature actors - Robert Shaw would have been marvellous!  I imagine de Niro will give it a go at some point and probably be adequate, but I'd rather wait a couple of years and see either Viggo Mortensen or Robert Carlyle try it.
